Sarah Jaycox Hartong
CO-FOUNDER  |  C.E.O.

Sarah is a communication expert with a passion for collecting, telling, encouraging, developing, and articulating stories, particularly those that exist to drive change in today's workplace. With a career spanning two decades, she has coached executives at Google, Morgan Stanley, Medtronic, Apple, Slack, World50, Starwood Hotels, tech startups, and other Fortune 500 companies. All her work focuses on putting the 'human' in today's leadership, and shifting corporate culture to better suit how people work today. She serves as a trusted advisor on leadership brand, executive presence, career strategy, and driving a supportive, successful business culture. Most recently, her focus has been on next-gen and female executives, facilitating top-talent female retreats, and working with leadership teams to take real action on balancing gender in the workplace.

She believes in being frank and asking questions to get to clarity.  She understands how to communicate to a variety of audiences with competing priorities - and that messaging must be audience-tailored and consistent at the same time. She creates and runs workshops that are tactical and create better leaders. She speaks about storytelling, leading with values, and what qualities drive both retention and happiness. In 2015, with Meghan Velin, she compiled all those passions and stories into one company, Leveled, which seeks to reimagine the way work works for everyone.

Prior to founding Leveled, she was on the executive team of SNP Communications, a San Francisco-based international leadership communication company. During her ten-year tenure, she opened and managed the thriving New York office. Prior to SNP, she was a management consultant at Webb Management Services, a leading consultancy for the planning and development of performing arts and creative entities.

Sarah received her undergraduate degree from Colgate University, and a Master's Degree from the School of Communication at Northwestern University. She loves a good game night and is never a sore loser (although often an insufferable winner). She reads business books and Buzzfeed. She has three very loud daughters, a French Bulldog and a rotating cast of foster dogs, a musician husband, and a speed boat that she, alone, captains.

Meghan Velin
CO-FOUNDER  |  PRESIDENT

Meghan Velin has over 15 years of experience in media and leadership communications. She excels at helping leaders to define, understand, and better articulate their own professional narratives. She develops and facilitates workshops that teach tangible and actionable communication skills, working with companies such as Salesforce, Google, SAP, and other Fortune 500 organizations. Meghan is a lover of transitions, pivots, and reinventions because she believes (and has experienced firsthand) that a straight and narrow career path is a thing of the past. Because of this, she enjoys coaching leaders - notably, women and femmes - through inflection points in their careers.

Meghan has a long-held passion for telling the stories of others, having honed her expertise as a television producer and casting director for networks like ABC, Bravo, Discovery Channel, and the Food Network. She now uses her creative writing skills to craft case studies, video scripts, core messaging frameworks, and e-learnings for clients such as Morgan Stanley, World50, and Stripe. Tapping into her journalism background, Meghan is able to conduct candid, comprehensive interviews with leadership teams and employees for Leveled’s Core Messaging Programs, 360 Management Reviews, and Gender Balance Analyses. She’s also a seasoned project manager, an insatiable wordsmith, and a fervent curator of talent - all skills she uses to create client events and collateral that are noteworthy, thought-provoking, and drive action.

Meghan received her undergraduate degree in Public Relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. A sucker for a challenge, she is a newly-indoctrinated distance runner, a hot yoga junkie, and an avid cribbage player. Meghan’s happy place is embracing the fun/chaos at home with her two energetic daughters, her very creative husband, and her practically human dog, Butter.
